September 4, 2014 – The 10th annual National Mesothelioma Awareness Day will be held on Friday, September 26, 2014. Established by an act of Congress, this special day is intended to draw public attention to one of the most lethal cancers worldwide. In addition to raising awareness of mesothelioma, a deadly disease linked exclusively to asbestos exposure, advocates use National Mesothelioma Awareness Day to raise necessary funding for continued medical research with the hopes of finding better treatments and ultimately a cure.
Philadelphia mesothelioma lawyers at the Shein Law support National Mesothelioma Awareness Day. As legal advocates for the victims of mesothelioma, we witness its devastating impact first-hand. For that reason, we join in the fight against the disease through our sponsorship of prevention efforts, comfort and support programs for victims and their families, and scientific research for more effective treatments and a cure.
This year, the Shein Law will continue its support for the fight against mesothelioma as a Founding Partner of Penn Medicine’s The Ride to Conquer Cancer to be held on October 11 -12, 2014. The 2-day, 150 mile bike ride in Southeastern Pennsylvania will benefit Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center of the University of Pennsylvania. The Abramson Center specializes in collaborative care of cancer patients, including prevention, diagnosis, and innovative and advanced treatment options. The Center is also renowned for its groundbreaking research, especially in the area of mesothelioma.
